Happy Christmas to all our members and visitors from the studentguardian, the site that provides student and university news and helps budding writers, bloggers and journalists get published on the web.
Many of our visitors and members are undergraduates and graduates from all over the world, but you don't have to be a student to get invoved in the studentguardian. Teachers, universities and a whole raft of other educational professionals follow the studentguardian and increasingly people are coming to us because they just like writing in their spare time.
What we really want, what the studentguardian is all about, is encouraging our visitors and members to get involved, have their say on issues that matter to them.
The studentguardian's ethos is to be inclusive and to provide a space where its readers can quickly and easily publish their own articles and reach our rapidly growing online audience. I suppose you could say that we sit somewhere between mainstream-media websites and blogs which, an approach that we believe, enables our visitors to get involved in writing in ways that are not always possible within more conventional online publications.
Registered members are free to contribute by submitting all kinds of content. Typical submissions are short news articles and longer features, but we also receive and publish short stories and poetry, which we usually place on our sister-site the writersguardian. Our members can also use the site to show off and promote their blog, chat on our forum and much more.
I hope you feel comfortable to join our 1663 members, register today and participate with the site as much, or as little as you like. At the same time, we hope you can have fun and (if you want) boost your online writing profile.
NB. The studentguardian will always keeps your details confidential and will not pass on your e-mail address to anyone else.
